The SEO Process
At web-topia we have a SEO
process which we apply to all sites & businesses. This
process includes the following steps:
1. Analysis of your web site
Every web site is a unique creation. When web-topia start a new SEO campaign the first thing we need to identify
are the goals & objectives for the site and the optimisation
in general.
These goals include; increase targeted traffic,
to encourage visitors to sign up for a newsletter or is the
goal to get someone to make a purchase online.
The goals and objectives of most sites will
usually be combination of many of the above. Different pages
within the site will have different goals. These goals need
to be identified and addressed throughout the SEO process.
2. Keyword Research & Analysis
Identifying the correct keyword phrases is considered one
of the most crucial stages in the search engine optimisation
process.
This stage of the search engine positioning
process identifies the appropriate keywords to target, ensuring
that the most qualified users will find the specific pages
within your site that are relevant to their search query.
3. Site Content
Since the end goal of the search engine optimisation process
is to achieve prominent placement for the right keywords,
rather than tricking the search engines into listing your
pages, we will need to ensure that the appropriate keywords
are incorporated into your site in an appropriate manner.
Visible text copy based on your chosen keywords will need
to be written and incorporated in to the sites content &
structure. This content should be written for the visitor,
good content will then be indexed by the search engines.
4. Link Popularity
The link popularity of a web page is the number and quality
of links pointing to that web page. Link popularity is not
simply a case of obtaining as many links as possible to a
web page. The quality of the sites linking to a web page holds
more value and weight than the quantity of sites and links.
All of the major search engines place a good deal of emphasis
on your site's overall link popularity.
5. Time
Be patient! Once the site has been optimised around the identified
keyword phrases and the link popularity building has begun,
we recommend not changing anything for at least 3 to 6 months.
It takes time for your new site to age
in the search engines' databases. Be patient!
